Supporting Adolescents Through Mental Health Issues

In the UK, around 10–13% of young people are known to actively self-harm. However, for many, disclosure is made harder by the fear of misunderstanding and the myths and stigma that remain around this issue. As professionals, we can often be unsure of how to respond in light of disclosure, fearing we will do or say the wrong thing. This one-day training course is ideal for those who would like to develop an understanding of adolescent mental health as well as the skills to confidently respond and support young people around the issue of self-harm and suicide.

Participants will learn about adolescent development and the signs and symptoms of mental health problems, where and how to get help and what sort of help has been shown by research to be effective.

Additionally ALL participants will gain access to a wide range of resources, including educational materials, referral networks, and support services.
Our Experienced Trainers Support Participants Through Interactive Exercises And Facilitated Discussions, Creating A Safe Space For Reflection, Sharing And Professional Development.
