Expected Learning Outcome

  1. Understand the prevalence of criminal exploitation.
  2. Develop an understanding of various typologies of criminal exploitation.
  3. Develop an understanding of the various harms associated with differing typologies of criminal exploitation.
  4. Develop an understanding of best practice, when supporting young people deemed at risk, including holistic support for the young person, and disruption for the perpetrator.

With a significant rise in harm occurring outside the home, and child protection frameworks not yet able to meet the changing needs, all professionals working with young people need to be aware and kept up to date with the changing contexts of harm happening within our communities. This training is designed for professionals engaging with those at risk of, or exposed, to community violence, exploitation and trafficking.

This four hour face-to-face workshop will ensure the above learning objectives are met by providing the background knowledge, real-life case studies, reflection spaces, and participatory activities so that delegates not only learn but can apply the learning. This training is suitable for any teams working with Children’s Services (including YOT,) Alternate Provision Staff, Youth Service, and 3rd sector support services. To ensure the highest quality attention provided to each participant, we would state no more than 40 could be in attendance in a single session.

Who is this training for?

This training is a must for any professional working with children or young people and their families, parents or carers. It’s suitable for various settings and either group or 1:1 dynamics.
