Understanding Youth Crime and Urban Disaffection

A unique opportunity to gain an in-depth understanding of young people at risk, involved or victims of gang culture and violence. This 1 day training course will help practitioners put forward proactive interventions to engage and tackle this prevalent and challenging issue. We explore why young people are attracted to street gangs, gang culture and knife-related violence. We also cover the legal and emotional consequences of carrying a knives and guns. The course aims to develop an understanding as to why young people feel it necessary to belong to gangs, as well as the associated risks and possible indicators.
