The course has been designed to help learners understand the principles of appropriate behaviour expected from young people at various stages of child development, discussing importance of understanding behaviour to effectively manage it. Providing participants with theories, strategies and tools to understand and effectively manage challenging behaviour in young people. We discuss ways to increase appropriate behaviour and decrease inappropriate behaviour, talking through the various influences and triggers for the latter. The training sets out to arm you with a toolkit on how to respond when challenging behaviour arises and how to implement behavioural support plans.
This training is a must for any professional working with children or young people and their families, parents or carers. It’s suitable for various settings and either group or 1:1 dynamics.
