With easy access to free online porn and a growing number of young people claiming to be regular consumers, especially during lockdown, the need for high quality RSE has never been more important. This course aims to support teachers, youth workers and other educators in meeting the new DfE requirement to teach about pornography and its potential impact on everything from body image to expectations of sex and relationships in RSE.
This includes the impact of viewing harmful content and how damaging it can be to present a distorted picture, both for the way people see themselves in relation to others and how it affects behaviours towards sexual partners. The course also touches on how sharing and viewing indecent images of children (including those created by children) is a criminal offence which carries severe penalties including jail. Traditionally a difficult topic to talk about, this training offers practical tips, activities and information to enable young people to understand the difference between pornography and real-life relationships and develop the skills to make healthy choices.
This training is a must for any professional working with children or young people and their families, parents or carers. It’s suitable for various settings and either group or 1:1 dynamics.
