With approximately one in five children identified as having a Special Educational Need, and rising numbers of young people with diagnoses like ADHD, Autism, and Dyslexia in every classroom, understanding the neurological basis of behaviour is no longer optional—it is essential.
This essential, practical neuroaffirming training helps professionals move beyond traditional discipline to deeply understand the executive function challenges that sit beneath the behaviours of neurodivergent children and young people (e.g., ADHD, Autism). Instead of viewing behaviours as defiance, laziness, or poor motivation, we explore what is really happening in the brain: difficulties with working memory, organisation, emotional regulation, task initiation, and cognitive overload.
Attendees will leave with a clearer framework for interpreting behaviours through a neurodevelopmental lens, along with evidence-based strategies that reduce escalation, build trust, and support young people to succeed in school, social settings, and the wider community.
