Detached Youth Work

Detached & Street-Based Youth Work Training

Here at KIP Education we share our expertise, always keeping young people at the heart of our training programs. Learn the specialised skills needed in youth & community work today on KIP Education’s dynamic youth work courses. As a Youth Worker, you are an integral part of providing assistance to disadvantaged and ‘at risk’ young people. Whether it’s developing and implementing specialised programs and services, providing crisis counselling or simply offering family support, completing our courses will give you all the skills and knowledge you need to expand within the community working with children and young people.

KIP Education’s interactive training workshops are designed to develop the practical youth work skills essential for effectively supporting young people aged 11-19 outside of a building-based environment. With the aims of inclusion and anti-oppressive practice central throughout, they are ideal for anyone including volunteers, part time and full-time staff.

Detached youth work has long been recognised as a good way to engage at risk and vulnerable young people that do not engage in other services. This series of training webinars will help you develop the practical skills and confidence to deliver quality street based youth work.

Our Training

About Our Training

Our courses draw on the insights of young people, families and professionals that we work with every year. We keep things practical by sharing experiences, giving practical tips and advice, sharing good practice, and exploring ideas through discussion and group work. We value discussion and run courses in a relaxed and supportive way so you can build confidence in your new skills and reflect on your development. We bring professionals from different disciplines together in one place to share knowledge and learn about young people’s mental health in different settings. Training empowers professionals to take on sessions and interventions that they may have previously found awkward or out of their skill’s zone. Each course provides not only up-to-date information, they also encourage professionals to take on these challenges and create effective and interactive interventions, lessons, sessions and workshops that staff and young people will enjoy.
